Tulbaghia violacea 'Silver Lace' - Society Garlic is a Silver Lace clump-forming perennial to 60cm, with corm-like rhizomes and narrowly linear grey-green foliage with a cream margin. Terminal clusters of fragrant, pale-lilac flowers up to 3cm long are borne from mid summer into early autumn.


Best grown in moderately fertile, well-drained, humus-rich, loamy soil. Protect in colder areas with a deep, dry mulch over winter or grow in a pot and take under cover. No pruning required and generally pest and disease free.Bulbs, mostly single ,are sold from 9cm pots.Usually bulks up in its first year.
