P. villosum is a tufted perennial grass(can be grown as an annual) with narrowly linear leaves and cylindrical, fluffy, whitish-green panicles
it is hard to resist stroking.
Grow in a light, moderately fertile, well-drained soil with good winter drainage. May need winter protection in coldest areas.Recent pottings supplied in spring will produce large plants by autumn.
