Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Black Beauty' black 'fur' is a clump-forming grass to around 1m (at the drier end of the garden our plants reach only about 60cm; in particularly dry summer the flowers may be disappointing here) with narrow, arching rich green leaves. 

From very late summer into autumn, tall stems bear dark purple to black flowers on bottle-brush heads.Their forms last well into winter

These make excellent cut flowers for fresh and dried arrangements.

Great for ground cover and as an accent in borders and containers.

Generally pest and disease free.Cut down in spring.
