Melica altissima 'Alba'
Common Names: Siberian melic 'Alba'
  • Melica 'Alba' is a clump-forming grass up to 90cm high with creeping rhizomes, flat, rough-textured, pale green leaves, and delicate panicles of pale greenish white 'rice' like flowers from late spring to midsummer

Best grown in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Cut back in late winter or early spring before the new foliage emerges
Foliage: deciduous
Height: 50 - 90 cm
Spread: 50 - 100 cm in 1 to 2 years
Planting Location: Good for informal beds and borders, low maintenance ground cover, woodland or under shrubs
Grown in a 9 cm pot but supplied without the plastic pot to avoid environmental waste (we reuse) and any excess soil.
