Kniphofia 'Nancy's Red' is an eye-catching fiery-red and orange flower spikes from mid to late summer. Best grown in a sandy soil that has been enriched with humus, 

but any moist but well-drained soil will do. Full sun is best, can tolerate partial shade but flowering is reduced. Cut down old flower stems after flowering.
