Compact Bamboo ,Fargesia rufa is a compact bamboo.Despite its potential ultimate height in optimum conditions this for many years remains dwarf, often seen at a little over a metre in a pot so very useful for smaller gardens.An evergreen, clump-forming species which is upright when young and moderately arching when mature. It grows to a maximum height of over 2m. New canes emerge bright green.
Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive soil. Prefers part-shade, but will grow full sun if reasonably sheltered.
