Calamagrostis 'Waldenbuch' is a clump-forming, deciduous, perennial grass with upright to arching, flat, linear, dark green leaves, turning golden-brown in winter, and, in summer, stiff, erect stems bearing narrow panicles of dark purple-green flowers that turn golden-brown in winter.

Cut back old stems to the ground in early spring before growth resumes.

Will grow in most moist, humus-rich, fertile, well-drained soils. Will not tolerate very poor soil.
