Achillea ptarmica 'The Pearl' is a deciduous perennial with double white flowers borne on erect, leafy stems up to 80cm tall in summer. Best grown

 

in a more moist soil than other achilleas, but not waterlogged, and grows well in partial shade. Cut down in winter.Time consuming but nipping off individual flowers as they fade will extend the season:alternatively shear over after the first flush as browning white flowers don't look good and some reblooming should occur.A lovely foil to  other flowers in garden or vase.May be supplied as bare roots.
